Trotter took the lead on the final curve and powered to a personal-best and world-leading time of 49.64 for her first national title at the 2007 USA Outdoor Championships...Trotter has parlayed a standout high school career running the 100 and 200m into an immensely successful career at 400 meters...Trotter, in 2005, won her first USA title in the 400 with a dominant performance of 52.01 to post the fastest time at the USA Indoor Championships since Jearl Miles-Clark ran 51.97 to win in 1999...won the 2004 NCAA title after placing second to fellow Olympic teammate Sanya Richards in the 400m at the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Trotter went on to place 5th at the Olympic Games and ran 1st leg on the gold medal-winning 4x400m relay...it was her second U.S. national team berth, having competed in the 400m at 2003 World Outdoors, where she ran in the semifinals for the gold ...did not run in the finals but earned a gold medal for her services...anchored U.S. 4x400m relay team to gold at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, two weeks earlier, helping Americans win first gold in that event at Pan Am Games since 1991...attended two high schools: Cross Keys High School and Cedar Grove and was a four-time letterwinner in track and field and basketball...was the Georgia AAAA state title holder in the 200m (24.19), as well as the indoor title holder, setting the state record (24.83)...had the fifth-best all-time 200m time in Georgia high school history, while her 100m clocking was 10th...a member of state championship 4x400m relay team, whose 3:50.19 reading was seventh best all-time in Georgia...personal high school records include 23.9 outdoors and 24.83 indoors in the 200m, and 11.7 in the 100m...gave up her final year of eligibility at Tennessee to compete professionally after the 2004 season.
