High School Championship meets this weekend

America’s top high school athletes will compete at two different national-caliber meets over the weekend.

The 2009 Nike Indoor Nationals will be held March Friday through Sunday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, home to the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships for the last several years. Among the athletes competing in Boston is 2008 USATF Youth Athlete of the Year Jordan Hasay in the girls’ 2 mile. Also entered in the meet is 2008 World Junior hammer throw silver medalist Connor McCullough in the boys’ weight throw.

The 26th Annual National Scholastic Indoor Championships will be held Friday through Sunday at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York City. The National Scholastic Indoor Championship (NSIC) was established in 1984 by the Metropolitan Athletics Congress to bring together the top high school athletes in the United States.
