Lolo Jones teleconference audio now available

USATF February 27, 2009

Feb. 25, 2009 - Reigning Visa Champion and World Indoor 60m hurdles gold medalist Lolo Jones on Wednesday spoke with the media via national teleconference about the 2008 Olympic Games and her highly successful 2009 indoor campaign. Media and fans can find a digital audio replay of the teleconference at USATF's new "Multimedia News" section, http://www.usatf.org/news/multimedia/. The Multimedia area includes audio of USATF teleconferences as well as select video.

Jones will compete this weekend at the 2009 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. At last year's championships, Jones won her second career national title in the women's 60m hurdles. Her time of 7.88 seconds gave her the overall Visa Championship as the top female performer of the Visa Championship Series, including a $25,000 bonus from Visa.

Jones enters the 2009 edition of the meet again in a position to win not only her event but the overall Visa Championship. Jenn Stuczynski's American record pole vault of 4.82m/15-9.75 gave Stuczynski 1,197 points using IAAF scoring tables and will put her in first in the Visa rankings entering the meet. A time of 7.86 by Jones would put her in first, provided Stuczynski doesn't again improve her AR. During the 2009 indoor season, Jones has surpassed 7.86 on three occasions to post the three fastest times in the world this year, running 7.82 twice and adding a 7.85.
